Lyrics

Paper Roses

She sat there on the pavement and made paper roses
The roses were pretty but she was homeless
Her heart was crying but no one could hear it
She sat there on the pavement
And only angels could see her smile
She stayed there for a while

This was the night in December-so cold, so dark and so lonely
And everyone was a stranger to a woman who was only
Just trying to stay alive, just trying to survive
But no one was watching
And no one could see her cry
She stayed there for a while

And then came the morning, the sun was warm and shining
And everyone was happy for a new day that was coming
And only paper roses were lying on the pavement
The memory of a woman
That knew how to make angels smile
She was gone for a while...
